- Please ensure you have a basic understanding of Wildlife in captivity which can be learnt in the Captive animal care giver NQF level 2 course modules.
Description
This hands-on course,“Game Capture Fundamentals,”equips you with essential skills to safely and humanely handle animals during capture, restraint, and transport. You’ll learn how to select and use the right equipment—from nets and nooses to drop nets and crushes—and maintain and repair these tools to keep them in top condition.
The course covers vital safety procedures, including administering antibiotics and antiseptics, recognizing potential hazards, and minimizing stress for the animals throughout the process. You’ll gain confidence in monitoring animal vital signs and behaviour, understanding recovery positions for different species, and knowing when and how to call for assistance.
