Description

This class covers everything that you need to be able to grab an acoustic or an electric guitar and learn how to play chords and your favourite songs!

It also provides you with a real understanding of playing an guitar which allows you to have a smooth start, to get creative and to be your own teacher in the end.

In this class you'll learn:

How to understand and tune your guitar: we will talk about the anatomy of a guitar, how to sit and hold your guitar properly and how to tune it as fast as possible.

How to read chord boxes: which can become your best guide in learning new chords.

How to play with a plectrum and with your fingers: we will cover both techniques, which allows you to start playing an acoustic as well as an electric guitar.

How to practise: a very important point, which can make you progress so much faster.

How to understand and play chords: we will cover a number of major and minor chords, which create a solid base for playing songs.

Strumming and Picking: those two techniques are the foundation of guitar playing, we will cover both of them and use them in songs.

How to improve your groove and feel for the rhythm.

How to play to a backing track: there is a number of backing tracks attached to this chords, that are really fun to play and practise to and that can really build up your feel for the groove.

4 Songs: Knocking on Heavens Door (Bob Dylan), Let It Be (The Beatles), When You Say Nothing At All (Ronan Keating) & Perfect (Ed Sheeran) – four songs from different eras. By learning these four songs you will understand the same principles that you need to learn any other song you want.

By the end of this class you will be able to play four songs, you will start developing basic musical knowledge, you will understand how your instrument works and how to play and practise it in a number of ways and you will be able to start learning more chords, songs and guitar techniques on your own.
