Genetics is the branch of biology that deals with heredity, especially the mechanisms of hereditary transmission and the variation of inherited traits among similar related organisms.

A system that includes all living organisms (biotic factors) in an area as well as its physical environment (abiotic factors) functioning together as a unit.
