The Invisible Band marks no major change in direction for Travis, but this is no bad thing. That Travis are the most simplistic of the post-Radiohead groups may not sound like the heartiest of compliments, but it undoubtedly accounts for their massive appeal. The Man Who became one of the most popular indie-rock records of the 1990s by virtue of its cheery accessibility and its way with a simple weather metaphor, and judging by the lyrics of "Side"–"The grass is always greener on the other side / The neighbor's got a new car that you wanna drive"–it's immediately obvious that come their third full-length album, Travis have figured out that their fans are not waiting for a brave sonic crusade.

In May 2006 Quidam played an acoustic gig in Inowroclaw (Poland), which they recorded to multi-track for their own personal collections. Upon playing the material they discovered they liked the recordings so much that they just had to share it with the rest of the world. And rightfully so because this CD is a worthy addition to the Quidam catalogue.

    Kraftwerk - Concert Classics
    Electronic | 1975 | FLAC+CUE 298MB | MP3@320kbps+CUE 113MB | Released in 1998

This live album focuses on the early years of the famous four, covering their Autobahn days with some pleasant surprises such as Tanzmusic from 1973's Ralf and Florian. The melodies are simple and sweet and the whole experience is conveyed with a playful display that I've only ever seen once before with Kraftwerk - when they tuned up their instruments before their Computer world show in 1981. Highly recommended to anyone who has interest in Kraftwerk, and who is looking for an insight into a band that had yet to transform into the clinical workers of their watershed album Computer world. How they got from hippie clangers to techno gods in the space of ten years, I'll never know, but this album shows the signs of their emerging kraft more than any author could write about.

Savoy Grand - People and what they want
    Alternative Rock/Indie | 2005 | mp3@~224kbps vbr | 97MB

Based in Nottingham, UK, SAVOY GRAND trade in extraordinarily sparse and fragile music, the sound of lives fractured and hearts broken. Over two albums they have built up a reputation for intimate detail, hushed voices and songs that seem to whisper in your ear but whose horizons are infinite. 2002's Burn The Furniture had all the hallmarks of a lost classic, employing dramatic dynamic shifts, string quartets and subtle electronics against which Graham Langley's understated vocals were able to impress a sense of longing and loss. People And What They Want, its follow up, continues in the same vein, peeling back the layers even further to expose the skeletal figures of the songs within.

    Natalie Cole - Leavin'
    Soul | 2006 | MPC@BrainDead (~300kbps vbr) | Covers | 109MB

With Leavin', her 20th studio album, Natalie Cole looks to be issuing a challenge to longtime listeners: if you're in, it's because you see stardust and are gripped by a warm sensation anytime her legendary voice eases through a speaker. If you're out, it's because you're not as musically adventurous as she is. Of the dozen songs here, only roughly a quarter could be cordoned off into classic R&B territory; the rest amount to an artful but decidedly pop-leaning hodgepodge. In addition to the opening track, a cover of Fiona Apple's "Criminal" that does away with the original's raw, angry edge in favor of flipness and sass, Cole gamely tackles Neil Young's classic "Old Man" and Kate Bush's "The Man With the Child in His Eyes." If those songs seem effortful, she finds more even footing on the title track, a Shelby Lynne original ready-made for a classic soul reworking, as well as on Aretha Franklin's "Day Dreaming," which benefits from producer Dallas Austin's addition of a hip hop-lite fringe. Unsurprisingly for an artist of Cole's depth and caliber, Leavin's sole original track, "5 Minutes Away," is its best. Here is Natalie as the world knows and loves her: a belter born to dose up the stirrings of her soul with unmatched tenderness and bottomless love.

Hard to explain in which way this band is able to touch my heart AND soul AND mind..! I love the reduced instrumentels and compositions 'cause the result is so very speciall and unique!! Everyone who loves SOUL, JAZZ and OWN interpretations has to take "tok tok tok" CDs in its collection!!! And my last hint: the THREE last CDs of the band have ONLY OWN compositions so they show their own lyrics and music!!!!

    Pop/Rock | 1991 | MPC@BainDead (~300kbps vbr) | 119MB

This album is indeed NOT the RCA release Guaranteed album. That one is really hard to get these days. Having been a faithful Level 42 fan for a very long time.... Mark King being my main influence on the bass, this album, like most of the early ones, is a masterpiece. Allan Holdsworth also contributed in this album (in case you don't know, he's the guitar wizard worshipped by other guitar maestros). So if you're looking for the RCA release, don't look here. But this album is a true gem.
