Nevermore - Enemies Of Reality (2003)
Progressive Metal | MP3 320kb | 49 Mb
Publisher: Century Media | Language: English | 2003

Almost three years after their landmark album, Dead Heart In A Dead World, Nevermore deliver another metal masterpiece with Enemies of Reality. This is like Politics of Ecstasy in the sense that there is not one bad song on here. It mixes the technicality of Politics with the sheer agression of Dead Heart. If you're a guitarist, you will enjoy this cd; Jeff Loomis goes completely apecrap with his soloing. We all knew he was an amazing guitarist, but this just blows his other works out of the water. Warrel Dane, once again, shows that he is one of the most talented vocalists in metal today. His lyrics are as angry and bitter as ever. The rhythm section of Jim Shepperd on bass and Van Williams on drums pummels like a freight train. The song "enemies of reality" kicks the album off in high gear and does not stop. "Ambivalent" has probably my favorite solo.

You've got to hand it to Nevermore, they keep managing to pump out consistent, hard albums with intricate structures and an overall epic feel. "This Godless Endeavor" is no different, even with the inclusion of former Testament guitarist Steve Smyth who manages to put his own signature on many of the tracks featured here. Opening track "Born" is brilliant, as is the lead single "Final Product", as well as "Medicated Nation", "The Holocaust of Thought", and the brilliant "Psalm of Lydia" which finds singer Warrel Dane soaring high with his unique vocals. The closing title track ends the album on a more solemn note, but the album's powerful tone never gets lost throughout it's whole running time.

Nevermore's (I want to say) fourth masterpiece, 2000's Dead Heart in a Dead World, is hands down one of the top five albums in my CD collection. Very rarely does metal get better than this. One of the many things I love about this band is that they don't fall in to any particular genre - except for maybe very dark and very evil metal.

Man, I can't believe it's been two years since I first read of a Nevermore dvd in the works. 2006 wasn't a great year for Nevermore due to illnesses left and right, the worst being former guitarist Steve Smyth experiencing kidney failure due to a congenital birth defect. This show was originally set for September 12 in Bochum, Germany. Unfortunately, Warrel had an infection, and had to be hospitalized. The show was later rescheduled for October 11.

Dreaming Neon Black is the third full-length album released by Seattle progressive metal band Nevermore, and was released through Century Media in 1999. Unlike its predecessor, The Politics of Ecstasy, this album is very emotional and contains many slower, ballad-type songs.

The PC version of Final Fantasy VII could have been, and perhaps should have been, better than its PlayStation counterpart. But it isn't. The story is amazing, and the combat is fun, making it a good choice for open-minded computer role-playing fans or adventure game fans who don't mind a little action in their games. Perhaps it's unfair to criticize Final Fantasy VII for being merely great, but it's hard not to think a version tailored specifically for the PC could have been amazing.

Breath Of Fire 4 (PC) | 480MB

Breath of Fire IV's gameplay is refreshingly simple, with only a few minor additions to its predecessor's battle system. Most noticeably, a new combo system lets spells dish out more damage than when cast alone, by working in conjunction with other spells. As before, Ryu can transform into a dragon or hybrid half-human, half-dragon creature to gain special attack powers. The party will pick up other drifters throughout the game, some of whom have the power to transform.
