It’s not only the complex production process that testifies to the band’s exceptional creative spirit, but also their diverse songwriting, which saw all four Sodom musicians - Tom Angelripper (vocals, bass), Frank Blackfire (guitar), York Segatz (guitar) and Toni Merkel (drums) - involved in the development of the material on "The Arsonist". The mastering was done by the famous sound engineer Eroc and the cover artwork with its martial design was penned by the exceptional Polish artist Zbigniew M. Bielak (Ghost, Mayhem, among others).

‘Origins Of Aggression’ will be a very special double album to celebrate the formation of the band and the 40th anniversary of Onslaught's debut album “Power From Hell”. ‘Origins of Aggression’ will contain a total of 22 tracks in a double album format.
Disc 1 contains re-recordings of the most important Onslaught tracks from the early years, while disc 2 consists of punk and metal cover versions that have made Onslaught the band they are today: Songs that were jammed during rehearsals, songs that inspired the musicians to play an instrument. A fascinating musical journey through the band's origins.

Canadian thrash metal veterans Sacrifice return in 2025 with their first new album in more than sixteen years. Volume Six, the band’s sixth album overall and second since reforming in 2006, features ten new originals and a cover paying homage to the Toronto scene from which they originally emerged.
Working once again with engineer Darius Szczepaniak - who was also at the helm for Sacrifice’s 2009 effort The Ones I Condemn - Volume Six was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Phase One Studios in Scarborough, Ontario. Tracked over a period of sessions between September 2023 and May 2024, the eleven-song offering was produced by vocalist/guitarist Rob Urbinati and features the band’s original lineup, with lead guitarist Joe Rico, bassist Scott Watts, and drummer Gus Pynn as well as Urbinati…

Brazilian metal veterans Sepultura return with another new album that once again furthers the ever growing evolution of a band that is now approaching 40 years. That’s a long time in anyone’s book but Sepultura have seemingly managed to keep things interesting all the way through including their latest effort.
Quadra is a concept album that, like its 2017 predecessor, expresses the delineated nature of society and the power of money. The album is so titled because its 12 songs are divided into four groups of three songs each. Each grouping showcases a different aspect of the band's musical persona. Exquisitely produced by Jens Bogren, its first section offers the band at its most aggressive in a short set of thrash metal. The main riff in "Isolation" is derived from the pervasive influence of their song "Arise"…

In a way, it is quite sensational to see another Morbid Saint album released at this point in time, meaning more than 30 years after their second LP “Destruction System” was recorded but not finished, only to be officially published recently. However, the prospect of delivering new music in their own unique death/thrash metal style was one of the main reasons why the core members reunited in 2010 in the first place. During its initial run from 1984 to ’94, the band wasn’t even close to having the final word, especially with regards to their seminal first record “Spectrum of Death” (1990). “Swallowed By Hell” was born from a remote creative exchange, with ideas being bounced back and forth between all members to create a ten-track barrage of extreme metal like it’s become rare these days - utterly punishing yet musically sophisticated, pushing limits but not for its own sake…

It’s not a rumor! After nearly 10 years of absence, the undisputed champions of metal brutality - Austrian Death Machine - are muscling their way back into the scene with their fourth album and Napalm Records debut. The unmissable project of As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis, launched 15 years ago as a one man band, triumphed as the metal scene’s newest obsession with their 2008 debut album, Total Brutal. After releasing two more acclaimed albums in 2009 and 2014, the one man band did the impossible - they broke up. After a decade of regrowth and rebirth, and with the help of good friends by his side, Lambesis finally felt inspired to work on new music for the project, now emerging as Quad Brutal - chock full of the band’s most heavy, breakneck riffage, non-stop pummeling rhythms and Ahhnold-approved ferocity yet…

Sodom Considered one of German thrash metal's "Big Four" along with Kreator, Tankard, and Destruction, Sodom is one of the genre's longest running and most influential bands. Emerging in the early 1980s, the group took cues from Mercyful Fate, Accept, and Venom, among others, and from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, to create a tougher, leaner form of metal. Landmark albums like Persecution Mania (1988) and Agent Orange (1989) followed, with later offerings such as Tapping the Vein (1992), Sodom (2006), Epitome of Torture (2013), and Genesis XIX (2020) introducing elements of death, crossover, and groove metal into the mix. Despite enduring multiple personnel changes, the band has remained continuously active, with bassist/vocalist Tom Angelripper serving as the only constant member.

Fifteen albums in, and 31 years after Annihilator began, you can hardly blame band supremo Jeff Waters for craving a little variety.
After a couple of thrash-dominated releases, then, Suicide Society often turns its attention to more traditional songwriting. This approach is most successful on the opening title track, which marries a simplistic riff with one of Annihilator’s most memorable choruses for some time, and the tunefully maudlin Snap with its stomping riff.
Hardcore fans shouldn’t fret; there’s still plenty of Waters’ trademark erratic riffage and thrashier tracks like Creepin’ Again, Break, Enter and My Revenge, even though the latter’s verses sound crazily like Metallica’s Damage Inc. Besides, melodic refrains are hardly new to Annihilator, as fans of the first two albums will attest…

Pantera The preeminent metal band of the early to mid-'90s, Pantera put to rest any and all remnants of the '80s metal scene, almost single-handedly demolishing any notion that hair metal, speed metal, power metal, et al., were anything but passé. Loathe to admit it, the Texas band had in fact been one of those '80s metal bands, releasing fairly unsuccessful (and later disowned) glam-inspired music throughout much of the decade. The about-face came with the addition of vocalist Phil Anselmo, and the key turning point was the band's major-label debut, Cowboys from Hell (1990). Pantera's mainstream breakthrough came next with Vulgar Display of Power (1992), their second major-label album, which thrust the band to the forefront of the metal scene, alongside such veteran bands as Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax, as well as fellow up-and-comers Sepultura and White Zombie.
