Women Refugee Voices from Asia and Africa: Travelling for Safety

This book presents experiences of women refugees in a variety of contexts across Asia and Africa and builds a framework to ensure robust and effective mechanisms to safeguard refugees’ rights. It highlights the structural challenges that women who are forcibly displaced face and the inadequacies of the response of governments and other stakeholders, irrespective of the country of origin, ethnicity, and religion of the refugee community.

This volume:

About the Author

ActionAid Association (AAA) is an organisation working for social and ecological justice. AAA has been engaged with the most marginalised communities in India since 1972. In partnership with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, AAA extends support to people from the Rohingya community settled in parts of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. AAA advocates for the universal rights of refugees, regardless of gender, class, caste, ethnicity, religion, and country of origin. AAA feels it is the collective responsibility of the international community to respond and ensure the rights of refugees.
