This book begins with a brief description of the twelve major events in the Buddha's life. The next section covers the first discourse that the Buddha gave after reaching enlightenment which outlines the Buddhist path. This is the Four Noble Truths. The Buddha taught that the universal experience of beings is that of dissatisfaction and suffering. He further taught that the way to end this suffering is not found outside ourselves, but by examining our mind through meditation to discover the root of this suffering.
