    Real-Time Optimization by Extremum-Seeking Control

    Posted By: mox1x2

Kartik B. Ariyur, Miroslav Krsti&cacute, "Real-Time Optimization by Extremum-Seeking Control"
    Pages: 248 | Publisher: Wiley-Interscience (October 3, 2003) | ISBN-10: 0471468592 | English | PDF | 8.7 MB

An up-close look at the theory behind and application of extremum seeking
Originally developed as a method of adaptive control for hard-to-model systems, extremum seeking solves some of the same problems as today's neural network techniques, but in a more rigorous and practical way. Following the resurgence in popularity of extremum-seeking control in aerospace and automotive engineering, Real-Time Optimization by Extremum-Seeking Control presents the theoretical foundations and selected applications of this method of real-time optimization.

Evolutionary Optimization (International Series in Operations Research & Management Science)

Ruhul Sarker (Editor), Masoud Mohammadian (Editor), Xin Yao (Editor), "Evolutionary Optimization (International Series in Operations Research & Management Science)"
    Pages: 432 | Publisher: Springer; 1 edition (January 1, 2002) |ISBN-10: 0792376544 | English | PDF | 8.9 MB

The use of evolutionary computation techniques has grown considerably over the past several years. Over this time, the use and applications of these techniques have been further enhanced resulting in a set of computational intelligence (also known as modern heuristics) tools that are particularly adept for solving complex optimization problems. Moreover, they are characteristically more robust than traditional methods based on formal logics or mathematical programming for many real world OR/MS problems. Hence, evolutionary computation techniques have dealt with complex optimization problems better than traditional optimization techniques although they can be applied to easy and simple problems where conventional techniques work well. Clearly there is a need for a volume that both reviews state-of-the-art evolutionary computation techniques, and surveys the most recent developments in their use for solving complex OR/MS problems. This volume on Evolutionary Optimization seeks to fill this need.

Christopher Thornton, Benedict Du Boulay, Ben Du Boulay, "Artificial Intelligence: Strategies, Applications, and Models Through Search"
    Pages: 363 | Publisher: AMACOM/American Management Association(1999-01) | ISBN: 0814404707 | English | PDF | 1.6 MB

This book uses the unifying thread of SEARCH as a way of bringing together the major techniques used in symbolic Artificial Intelligence. The authors include program code to illustrate concepts in both POP-11 and Prolog. Each chapter covers a technique and is then divided into three sections: 1) an introduction to the technique; 2) development of a low-level of (POP-11) implementation; and 3) development of a high-level (Prolog) implementation.
This is a practical book which should be valuable to those experienced in artificial intelligence, students with some programming background, and academics and professionals looking for a concise discussion of artificial intelligence through SEARCH

    Publisher: Waite Group Press | ISBN: 1571691340 | 13 April 1998 | 3.2 MB | Pages: 768 | PDF

With software engineering books, it's hard to get the right mix of theory and practice. Object-Oriented Design in Java combines the best of today's thinking on software engineering with nuts-and-bolts examples written in Java. The result is this fine introduction to both disciplined software engineering and the strengths of Java for effective object-oriented design (OOD).

Manfred M. Fischer, "Spatial Analysis and GeoComputation: Selected Essays"
    Springer | ISBN: 3540357297 | September 14, 2006 | 336 pages | PDF | 2 MB

This volume contains selected essays of Manfred M. Fischer in the field of spatial analysis from the perspective of GeoComputation. The volume is structured in four parts. The first sets the context by dealing with broad issues related with spatial analysis and the role of GIS. The second relates to computational intelligence technologies such as neural networks that provide a new style of performing spatial modelling and analysis tasks in geography and other spatial sciences. The third part provides the theoretical framework required and displays the efficient use of various adaptive pattern classifiers in remote sensing environments. The final part outlines the latest, most significant developments in neural spatial interaction modelling.
