Quantum Probability and Applications II

The Second Workshop on Quantum Probability and Applications was held in Heidelberg, October 1-5, 1964. It was organized by the Sonderfor schungsbereich 123 CStochastische Flathematische Flodelle) of the University of Heidelberg with a contribution from the University of Rome II. Since the first Workshop on Quantum Probability, which was held in Villa Mondragone in 1982, many important achievements have been obtained in this branch of probability theory, concerning not only the inner mathematical development of the discipline,but also its applications to problems of quantum physics such as the quantum theory of irreversible processes, quantum optics, quantum field theory and the quantum theory of measurement. The Haidelberg meeting was an attempt to provide an overview of these results, as well as of open problems with particular emphasis on those arising from quantum physics.
