The Brigade By H.A. Covington
2008 | 736 Pages | ISBN: 1436328020 | PDF | 3 MB

When this book dropped through my letter box, the first thing I noticed was the huge `thud!'. This is a hefty tome at 735 pages. Right away I must say this is an extremely rare book in that it is one of those very lengthy odyssey's that ALWAYS keeps you engaged. I can honestly say, that at not one single point in this marvellous story did I ever feel that things had `slowed down' or become turgid. It was full of electricity, excitement, suspense, drama and passion of varying forms. As far as the actual story goes, I really don't want to say too much, as I don't want to spoil the thrill of the suspense and tension for the future reader. But the backbone is thus: There is a scattered minority of `doers' in the Pacific Northwest of the USA that are sick to death of the accelerating tyranny of multiracialism and Political `Corrrectness' that the ruling regime - be they the `official' regime at DC or the money masters at the Federal Reserve and Hollywood etc - have forcibly rammed into the brains of the unwitting white populace and made them third class citizens in their own land. They find they can no longer sit in their sofas, eyes glued to the propaganda box, comatose (or drunk), pretending everything's all right. Here, there and everywhere throughout the Pacific Northwest the European population can take no more. The Pacific Northwest has something the rest of the USA is without - hope in the form of the Northwest Front, a rallying point for these Aryan folks who have thrown off the rose-tinted glasses once and for all and who have decided that they must do something productive with their lives, by giving everything to throw off the destructive yoke of the Judeo-Liberalist establishment that has given them not only the waves of crime from the incoming foreign races, but also their own criminality that has materialized due to their thought-crimes committed under the banner of apparent hatespeech. The struggle begins with the realisation that only one form of revolt can expect any kind of success, the kind that the pages of history constantly reveal as the only form that sets men free. Ex Gladio Libertas. And so the odyssey begins. There are a couple of characters that are followed from the opening chapter right to the end, but by and large the story is inter-woven with a collection of them - just enough to provide the required degree of depth and intrigue, but not too much as would make the story confusingly complex. I sincerely hope with that statement I haven't succeeded in making this volume sound formulaic, because that it certainly is not. The characters are genuinely believable and truly memorable and this could well be a result of real persons the author has encountered in his own illustrious path - or maybe he's just a damned good writer. It has to be said - this book would make one hell of a movie trilogy, it really would. Unfortunately it'll probably take a real Operation Director's Cut (read the book and you'll understand) to make that happen. If there's any justice left in the world, we may well see that someday. Arguably the greatest success of this epic is that one can actually read it (all the way through) and at no point say to ones self, "Oh come on! That would never happen in real life!", which could be a potential problem when tackling a story of this type that is set in the very near future, as it would kill any opportunity for the reader to become thoroughly engrossed in the story. But it's not at all an issue in this epic. In fact, personally - in particular when I was ensconced in the especially `revolutionary' activities the characters were plotting and executing (literally, often) - I found myself saying, "Y'know, that really could be actually a possibility!". I read this book in 4 days. 6 hours in the first day, another 6 in the second day, 10 hours in the third and 4 hours in the final day. What I am illustrating here is the sheer addictive readability of this great work. I am so pleased I learned of it's (and the Old Man's) existence. I hope Mr Covington will prove to be a prophet with this magnificent work, and I sincerely hope for the good of European derived peoples everywhere this becomes a future classic that will be found in all of our grandchildren's libraries (granted, the adult reading section). However, frustratingly the powers that be will certainly do their damnedest to ensure that never happens. I thoroughly recommend all of Mr Covington's works, especially Dreaming The Iron Dream and the rest of the Northwest Novels.
