Discover how top maths performers simplify their thinking. Build good habits and see the underlying patterns in mathematics.

Improve Your Maths in 2 Hours combines with over 100 free videos (linked from within the text) to create a complete maths learning experience.

This book is mainly (although not only) aimed at maths students able to (at least) solve quadratic equations. It is the third edition of a book previously called "Improve Your Maths Grade in 2 Hours".

I used to be an expensive maths tutor. I would have maybe 20 or 30 students a year and consistently these students would surprise their teachers and get much higher than expected grades. I also used to do "exam booster" tutorials where in just 1 or 2 hours I would show a new student how to boost their grade by a few percentage points. With this book I will be your "performance booster" maths tutor.

Skim through this book and pick out the "mini tutorials" that catch your eye. You should find between 2 and 4 hours of content.

This book is the distilled wisdom from my many years of teaching. I have not held anything back and I purposely set myself the challenge of making this book as short as possible to save you time.

This 65 page large format A4 book comes in 8 parts:

Learning and Revising covers ways to learn and revise maths better.
A Series of Topic Chapters cover Arithmetic, Fractions, Surds, Indices, Factorising, Equations, Simultaneous Equations, Inequalities, Graphs, Geometry, Triangles, Vectors, Differentiation, Integration, Percentages, Complete the Square, Functions, Logs and more. I cover memorable, imaginative and creative approaches.
The Revision Quizzes are specifically for students who might normally find maths easy; They focus on unusual questions that test understanding and not memorised techniques.
For students studying Statistics at higher levels I have a summary of the key things to know. I assume your basic maths is strong.
There is a similar quick-start guide to Mechanics.
10 Calculus and Trigonometry Proofs are included because I find many students benefit from seeing the proofs. Each has a "fill in the blank" worksheet.
How to Teach Maths is for teachers. It includes the key things I have learnt over the years that I think you might find useful. I also recommend you look at my topic-specific techniques, in particular the "five step process to solve any equation" and the "five step process to solve any triangle question". You are welcome to use the worksheets with your classes. Finally, you may find it useful to give some of my videos as homework tasks.
I have a degree in Physics and have often been asked to help with physics exams. So, key areas where students have found my explanations useful are covered.
I want to reach as many people as possible. So, if this book is too expensive then you are welcome to work through the videos on my YouTube channel for free. However, the book and videos cover different material and so for the complete learning experience both are needed.

Included in this book is a download link to a zip file of all the videos. This is particularly intended to help if your internet is unreliable. The download has a monthly limit and may not work if that limit has been reached.

If you learn one thing from this book I hope it is "maths is simpler without tricks". I will show you how understanding the basics enables you to answer almost any question (you'll still need the occasional algebraic technique, although not as many as a lot of teachers seem to think).
