Moria and Kami bring together two very different dances from India, one Modern Fusion and another classical temple, to combine with the intensity and fun of Tribal Fusion Bellydance. Odissi Indian Temple Dance is a multi-thousand year old dance form that has been passed down from guru to student for generations. Preserved through hundreds of statues decorating the walls of sacred sites throughout Eastern India, Odissi's precise form celebrates the sacred feminine and evokes the divine.
In this DVD Moria Chappell introduces you to some of the footwork, mudras, and temple poses that are a part of this vast art form. She combines the look and moves of this ancient Indian dance with Tribal Fusion Bellydance to present a fun intermediate level Odissi Indian Fusion Tribal Bellydance Choreography. You will experience how these two very different dance styles are bound by the same urgency of expression: strength in feminine devotion. The DVD also includes a moon salutation yoga warm-up and cool-down.
