Description
About The Philosophy in This CourseAnchored in the essential work of Yin leaders Paul Grilley and Bernie Clark, this training is what we may call a "Classical" Yin Training. Strongly steeped in Paul's work and revolutionary understanding of human variation and functional yoga and informed by Bernie's unparalleled research and synthesis of the style, this training focuses on the anatomical benefits and purpose of Yin as a method for stressing and supporting the "Yin" tissues of the body: joints, tendons, and ligaments. With overview of Taoism, Yin & Yang, and Meridian Theory, this Yin program offers a bridge between the ancient wisdom of Taosist theory and modern anatomical understanding. What Students Will LearnUpon completion of this 50-hour YIN Yoga Theory only Teacher Training, students will:Describe the benefits of Yin as it relates to connective tissue and stress! For a given Yin pose, identify the target area, common adaptations, variations, key propping, and cautions.Describe key philosophical principles of Yin Yoga, including the principles of Yin and Yang, Ch’i, and the TaoDescribe the history of Yin practice, including modern leaders in its development!Included Lesson PlansPhilosophy: Introduction to Yin/Yang Theory, Introduction to Meridian Theory, History of YinTeaching Methodology: Principles of Yin PracticeAnatomy: Introduction to Integral Anatomy, Anatomy of Bones & Joints, Anatomy of Connective Tissue, The Thigh Mandala, The Torso MandalaThis training is delivered in a Hybrid style, so students will have access to and complete all the theory training in a self-directed manner. Once modules of all theory training are completed, students have the option of connecting through live virtual pre-scheduled sessions for practical work.
