In this series Maya takes you on a journey through the first 3 Chakras, introducing a new Kundalini Yoga practice for each individual Chakra. Chakras are energy centers which absorb life force or prana from the universe and are distributed through the nadis, energy channels to the nervous system, endocrinal glands adn cicrular systems. In this 3 DVD box set, Maya will guide you through the yoga practices for the first three Chakras: Courage, Creativity and Willpower, know as the lower triangle. The lower triangular chakras focus on elimination and are balanced by the upper triangular Chakras, which accumulate, create and recline.

(4 and 5 volumes) Yogini and ex-journalist Libby Green is charmed by A Journey through the Chakras - a DVD in Maya Fiennes' new series on Kundalini Yoga. I'm not in general a fan of yoga DVDs. I find the constant craning to see the screen while the teacher blithely runs through a set of complex asanas irritating; more of a juggling act between my mat and my remote control.
It concentrates on the sixth Chakra of the body. The sixth chakra, the third eye, is the centre for wisdom, vision and intuition. The exercises for this DVD focus on the pituary gland which will help achieve integrity, determination, power of projection and understanding your purpose.
The seventh chakra is located on the top of the head and is the seat of the soul and the centre of perception. The practice concentrates on the pineal gland which is located at this point. It is also associated with cosmic sound and when activated through sound, will give the body, mind and spirit the chance to merge.
