Stop Trying To Be Positive: How To Stop Worrying, Relieve Anxiety And Eliminate Negative Thinking by Elizabeth Tucker
English | 2020 | ISBN: N/A | ASIN: B08F4NDCH4 | 50 pages | MOBI | 0.21 Mb

Do you get irritated and frustrated when people tell you to look on the bright side or that every cloud has a silver lining? Have you tried positive thinking but it just seems to difficult and too unrealistic in your life?

Even if you don't think it's realistic, I am sure there are plenty of times when you'd like to have a few moments' peace from the negative thoughts.

This book explains how you can quieten the negative thoughts but still keep a sense of perspective. These are practical ways that help you to introduce some natural positivity to you life. This isn't about overbearing, exhausting, sugary positivity but down to earth, believable positivity that can improve your life. It isn't about trying to pretend you are a person you can't imagine. It is about enabling your mind to find the type of positivity that is real for you.

It isn't a long and wordy book. I've kept it to the point because, in my experience, people who are looking for a solution don't want to wade through pages of scientific studies and lengthy explanations. There should be enough information to get you on track with a simple explanation of why it can help. However, if you are interested in any of the areas in more depth I have listed some helpful links in the final chapter.

As a hypnotist, I am part of a profession that has helped people to change their thoughts and behaviours for thousands of years. There were no scientific studies then to prove why things worked, but they still worked. In our more scientific age, people often look to science as a proof - and it's there if you want it, but you can also ignore it if you want to. After all, the real proof is in your own experience.
Don't expect a complete personality change overnight. This is about introducing some new ways of thinking and reacting into your life that will make a difference but won't change you character completely. It's like having a mental makeover rather than a complete transplant. If you did have a complete personality change you would probably find it disturbing. Using the techniques in this book should help you to find the level of positivity that feels comfortable for you.

If you tend to get overwhelmed and push yourself too hard then slow down a bit! Don't try and do everything in this book at once or you'll end up being even more frustrated. I've put the techniques in the order that I think will make the most effective difference for you. You can work your way through as slowly as you want. Make a note each evening about how the day has been for you so that you get a record of your actual experience. After all, if you're a negative thinker you're likely to forget the good bits!
