Master control over EDC17 ECU files by learning to fully disable error recording and reporting through error masking

    What you'll learn
    - Advanced Error Masking Techniques for EDC17 ECUs
    - Precise Identification of Error Blocks:
    - Accurate Code Location and Indexing
    - Implementation of Complete Error Suppression
    - Practical Applications and Important Considerations

    Requirements
    - Prior viewing of "EDC17 error delete videos" is crucial, as the course builds upon that foundational knowledge
    - Students must understand the process of finding OBD/P and manufacturer error codes within EDC17 ECU files
    - Familiarity with identifying and working with error path tables is a required prerequisite for this advanced course

    Description
This advanced course, building upon foundational knowledge from previous EDC17 error delete videos, teachescomplete error recording and reporting suppressionwithin Bosch EDC17 ECU files. You will delve intoerror masking, a powerful technique that makes specific error codes and all their associated readings effectivelynon-existentto the ECU. This goes beyond simply preventing error flags; it aims to "shut down the error code and all the readings associated with that particular error code".

Students will gain the expertise toprecisely identify and navigate ECU structures. This includes locatingtwo distinct 16-bit error code blocks(which can be OBD, manufacturer-specific, or mixed). You will learn to accurately count and index these codes by arranging your view to a 20-column width and defining their exact start and end points through consistent methodology. Furthermore, you will master the identification of theunique 8-bit error path block, understanding its visual "shape" in 2D view and recognizing that it containstwice as much dataas the 16-bit code blocks.

The core practical skill taught is theimplementation of complete error suppression by setting specific error path values to zero (00). This ensures the ECU perceives the error as if it "simply doesn't exist," thereby eliminating dashboard lights and diagnostic flags. Alternative values like 6535 or 32768 will also be explored for cases where zero is not effective. A key EDC17 principle understood is thatone error code correlates to one error path, meaning modifying a path in one error code block effectively turns off corresponding paths in both.

This advanced masking isideal for common vehicle modifications like EGR or DPF deletes, as it completely eliminates related error checking. However, the course emphasizes crucial considerations:the underlying fault in the car still exists, and critical errors (e.g., those triggering limp mode) might still activate through "separate routes". Additionally, students will learn that readiness checks (especially in USA/Canada) may still fail even if error reporting is suppressed.Precision is paramount: "You should try to be very precise and only zero the exact point" to avoid interfering with other ECU functions.

Prerequisites: Students must have previously watched EDC17 error delete videos and possess a foundational understanding of finding OBD/P and manufacturer error codes, as well as working with error path tables.

    Who this course is for:
    - For those with foundational knowledge from prior EDC17 error delete videos, understanding error codes & path tables
    - Ideal for tuners performing EGR or DPF deletes, as it completely eliminates related error checking and flags
