    La science en islam revêt une importance indéniable et possède de nombreux mérites. Toutes les science ne se valent pas pour autant. Le savoir véritable est la science profitable, celle qui va de pair avec son intérêt. Cette science est prônée par les Anciens et est vantée par Allah dans le Coran.

    Cette science est la connaissance de Dieu et de Ses injonctions. Le savoir profitable est la voie qui mène à l'humilité des cœurs, à la crainte de Dieu est à la sagesse des esprits. Il est bon d'entreprendre l'étude des sciences, mais assouvir sa curiosité scientifique ne doit pas se faire au détriment de sa propre foi.

    Ibn Rajab al-Hanbalî célèbre tout le mérite qui revient aux Anciens.
