Revelation is an excellent CD and super return for one of the greatest bands of all times. Sure the band has changed a lot since their 80's golden era, but they sound like they haven't lost a beat with this new release.

This album features a combination of fine guitar work, vocals and production values. Mr. Briefcase is a finely crafted piece of jazz-pop with lyrics that matter. There are many great songs on this record.

Richard Marx knows what he's good at and that would be rock-tinged power ballads–and, as evidenced by My Own Best Enemy, he's sticking to it. The disc, it should be argued, matches Marx's work on early'90s hits like "Should've Known Better," and he's bound to find an appreciative audience.

The Original LP first came out in 1975. The newer 1995 CD version has been remastered and has had 3 Bonus Tracks added. Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds, One Day At A Time and Philadelphia Freedom.

If the singles 'Your song' and 'Honky cat' made the name Elton John familiar to radio listeners, and 'Rocket man' became his first major hit single (nearing the top of the charts in Spring 1972), it was the album 'Don't shoot me…' which confirmed that he had really made it as a major force in British popular music.
This CD reissue includes the bonus tracks "Screw You (Young Man's Blues)," "Jack Rabbit," "Whenever You're Ready (We'll Go Steady Again)," and a simple piano version of "Skyline Pigeon." So if you do not yet have this album in your music library then there is no reason not to make a point of making sure that is the version you pick up.
