    February 15, 2005 | ISBN: 0534950973 | DjVu | 456 Pages | 6,57 MB

“Intended as an upper-level undergraduate or introductory graduate text in computer science theory," this book lucidly covers the key concepts and theorems of the theory of computation. The presentation is remarkably clear; for example, the "proof idea," which offers the reader an intuitive feel for how the proof was constructed, accompanies many of the theorems and a proof. Introduction to the Theory of Computation covers the usual topics for this type of text plus it features a solid section on complexity theory – including an entire chapter on space complexity. The final chapter introduces more advanced topics, such as the discussion of complexity classes associated with probabilistic algorithms.” – Amazon.com

Logging in Java with the JDK 1.4 Logging API and Apache log4j by Samudra Gupta
    Publisher: Apress (April 15, 2003) | ISBN: 1590590996 | CHM | 2,3 Mb | 336 pages

Logging in Java with the JDK 1.4 Logging API and Apache log4j is the first book to discuss the two foremost logging APIs: JDK 1.4.0 logging API and Apache log4j 1.2.6 logging API for application developers. The internals of each API are examined, contrasted, and compared in exhaustive depth. Programmers will find a wealth of information simply not available elsewhere–not even on the Internet. Each concept explained is accompanied by code example written in Java language. The book also provides guidelines for extending the existing logging frameworks to cater to application-specific needs. This is an essential handbook for logging-related information and techniques needed for developing applications in the Java language.

    RS.COM 160 MB - 5 CD and Booklet

This popular vocabulary-building program, previously available in audiocassette tape format, is now being issued on compact discs. Based on Murray Bromberg and Melvin Gordon’s bestselling classroom book, 1100 Words You Need to Know, this program presents seven humorous dramatizations designed to build students’ word power while preparing them for the SAT, ACT, and ESL tests. Dramatized stories include those of a hapless football team, a private eye, a chef with an accident-prone cooking show, and others. All stories keep their listeners amused while they introduce words and word meanings in the context of informal conversations. A 32-page booklet lists the words-to-learn from each dramatization and provides brief definitions for them all.

Starting with a complete list of .NET Retraining Prerequisites and a full chapter answering the question "What is .NET", the author skillfully takes the reader through the .NET Framework, Database Access, Windows, Web, and Web Services topics. Additional topics range from Printing with Crystal Reports, using XML, and HTML to advanced .NET topics like .NET Configuration and Security for Web Services. The Mainframe Programmer's Guide to .NET is certainly a complete guide for the Mainframe programmer. Each chapter;provides valuable references for continued learning. Having been given a context, the informed reader is then encouraged to take advantage of the references for continued in-depth training.

Storage Networks by Daniel J. Worden, Apress

Storage Networks by Daniel J. Worden, Apress
    Publisher: Apress; 1 edition (March 2, 2004) | ISBN: 1590592980 | CHM | 3,9 Mb | 352 pages

Rather than being based on a specific vendor offering, Storage Networks will appeal to any systems administrator, architect or manager with large data resources to manage. Applicability of the technology to non-traditional IT buyers such as video and music production studios, medical diagnostic imaging and GIS applications is stressed. With the rapid adoption of digital processing for images and sound, storage networks have a great use outside of the data center. At the same time, the benefits of recoverability, performance and manageability required by the large 'glass house' operation will benefit any storage network user. This book will appeal to both sets of readers.

Wireless Java: Developing with J2ME, Second Edition (Books for Professionals By Professionals) by Jonathan Knudsen
    Publisher: Apress; 2nd edition (February 26, 2003) | ISBN: 1590590775 | CHM | 2,6 Mb | 384 pages

Although Java is incredibly popular, the standard edition of Java is way too big and bulky to build applications for wireless devices such as PDAs and phones. Thus, Sun has released Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition (J2ME). J2ME has the potential to be as revolutionary in the wireless space as Java has been in the server space. Wireless Java: Developing with J2ME, Second Edition is updated to include coverage of the next version of programs for mobile Java devices. MIDP 2.0 contains many exciting new features, such as sound HTTPS support, lots of user interface API enhancements, a Game API, and much more. Also, author Jonathan Knudsen makes clear what material is new so readers can still use the book for MIDP 1.0/CLDC 1.0.

Extreme Programming Refactored: The Case Against XP by Matt Stephens, Doug Rosenberg
    Publisher: Apress; 1 edition (August 5, 2003) | ISBN: 1590590961 | CHM | 3,7 Mb | 432 pages

Extreme Programming Refactored: The Case Against XP is meant to provide an independent look at Extreme Programming. It is meant to cut through the marketing hype of Extreme Programming and expose a number of weaknesses with this approach to software development. It tries to draw a distinction between true "agility" in a software process and "fragility" inherent in techniques such as oral documentation. Extreme Programming (XP) is a consummate mix of good goals, some good advice, and lots of bad advice. The goals and the good advice draw people in; the bad advice can potentially cause projects to fail.

Marine Protected Areas for Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises: A World Handbook for Cetacean Habitat Conservation by Erich Hoyt
    Publisher: Earthscan (December 2004) | ISBN: 1844070638 | PDF | 6 Mb | 516 pages

In this excellent and definitive book, the author makes clear that Marine Protected Areas, even in the earliest stages of full evaluation, offer a realistic and informed approach to immediate and future marine conservation. Whilst the science and logisitcs are complex, the theory behind MPAs is simple. Its an holistic approach to conservation in which single factors are considered cumulatively, rather than individually. So for example, the effects of all human activities in one area (say, fishing, recreational boating and waste management) are considered all together, not just for one particular species but on the entire ecosystem in question, from whale to coral reef to microorganism. The emphasis is strongly on the management of human activities. Truly effective MPAs require difficult and unpopular decisions, such as the zoning of areas where human presence is limited and, in some cases, prohibited. We are accustomed to plundering the seas without thought, for economic and recreational benefit. For the world in general to embrace MPAs to their fullest extent will require a huge shift in thinking and greater cooperation between nations and understanding between cultures.

Van De Graaff Human Anatomy PDF

    Rapidshare.com 99 MB PDF 885 Pages

    Product Profile (ISBN 069-728413-1)

Human Anatomy by Van De Graaff is designed for schools which offer split courses in anatomy and physiology. The one-semester anatomy course is usually offered at a freshman/sophomore level and is taught primarily in biology, physical education, or allied health departments. It is a prerequisite for programs in occupational therapy, physical therapy, massage therapy, sports medicine, athletic training, or chiropractic careers.

Human Anatomy uses a systemic approach as opposed to a regional or gross anatomy approach. The latter approach is favored by medical schools, or institutions that generally rely on the dissection of a human cadaver. Courses for nursing or allied health students, on the other hand, will usually use the systemic approach.
