Troyal Garth Brooks (born February 7, 1962) is an American country music artist. His eponymous first album was released in 1989; it peaked at #2 in the US country album chart and reached #13 on the Billboard 200 pop album chart. Brooks's integration of rock elements into his recordings and live performances made him very popular and allowed him to dominate the country single and country album charts and quickly crossed over into the mainstream pop arena, exposing country music to a larger audience.

Eldorado is an EP released only in Japan and Australia by Neil Young and The Restless, which consisted of Chad Cromwell and Rick Rosas. It contains different mixes of three songs that subsequently appeared on Young's 1989 album Freedom, "Don't Cry," "On Broadway," and "Eldorado," and two tracks not available on any other recording, "Cocaine Eyes" and "Heavy Love." It is claimed that "Eldorado" came about as a direct result of Young's reunion with Crosby, Stills & Nash on 1988's American Dream - the proto-grunge sound of Eldorado an extreme contrast to CSNY's lightweight folk/pop - and that the song "Cocaine Eyes" in particular is a critique of Stephen Stills' condition during the making of that album.

Caravan are an English band from the Canterbury area, founded by former Wilde Flowers members David Sinclair, Richard Sinclair, Pye Hastings and Richard Coughlan. Caravan rose to success over a period of several years from 1968 onwards into the 1970s as part of the Canterbury scene, blending psychedelic rock and jazz to create a distinctive sound like their contemporaries Soft Machine. Caravan still remains active as a live band in the 21st century. Canterbury Scene rock band Caravan released Blind Dog at St. Dunstan's in 1976, their 7th studio album. Lynda Lemay (born 25 July 1966 in Portneuf, Quebec) is a Canadian francophone singer-songwriter. After winning regional awards in 1989 she went to France where her lyrics about everyday life events, sometimes rather ironic, became almost instant classics. She regularly tours in Quebec and France, with particularly frequent appearances at the Paris Olympia.

Maxime Le Forestier (born 10 February 1949 as Bruno Le Forestier) is a French singer. He was born in Paris to an English father and a French mother who had lived in England. He had two older sisters, Anne and Catherine. His musical training started on the violin. He attended the Lycée Condorcet, where he studied literature. In 1965, he formed a duo (Cat et Maxime) with his sister Catherine. Playing at cabaret venues on Paris' Left Bank, the pair met and formed a friendship with Georges Moustaki. They were amongst the first artists to cover a number of songs by Moustaki – including Ma Liberté and Ma Solitude. In 1968, Catherine joined Moustaki as a backing singer.
