    MP3 320 Kbps | 110.4Mb | Front cover | Released: 2005
Chinese Oldies | 1CD | Label: InterGlobal Music (M) Sdn Bhd

Tan Soo Suan's debut CD album features songs from Dama Orchestra's award–winning music–theatre production Fragrance Of The Night, which won the BOH Cameronian Award 2002 for the Best Music Ensemble Performance in Malaysia. This album, like the music–theatre production, pays tribute to one of yesteryears' singing legends, Li Xiang Lan–the voice behind the immensely popular hit Ye Lai Xiang. Despite being Japanese, Li had stemmed her mark as a formidable songstress during the shi dai qu period (1930s–1960s) when Mandarin tunes ruled the Chinese broadcasting, recording and film world.

    Produced and recorded in Malaysia.

Liquide Perle - Compositions of Giovanni Antonio Terzi (ca. 1570 - post 1599)

    Liquide Perle 2001
    MP3 128 Kbps | 69Mb | Front cover | Released Italy: 2001
    Classical | 1CD | Label: E Lucevan Le Stelle

A city on a distant hill represented freedom for Renzo in the Italian novel, The Betrothed. The city in question was Bergamo, in the proud territory of Veneto. There, Tramaglino hoped to put his endangered life beyond risk. And yet even the author of this classic tale, Alessandro Manzoni, was unaware that Giovanni Antonio Terzi, the prince of Italian lutenists, was alive and living in the city in the very period in which his story is set. Little evidence remains of the fact today, and little attention has been paid to his existence in the intervening years, yet Terzi was without doubt one of the best-known and the greatest Italian lutenists of the sixteenth century. The history of this excellent CD is mingled with that of a bizarre personality with a musical soul. A mysterious man, who came from and vanished into nowhere, contributed to the beauty of this production, leaving us a recording that leaves one totally speechless.

Brazilian pianist/composer Marcelo Zarvos continues to stake out his own musical territory at the crossroads of world music, classical, and jazz. His passion for his own country`s folklore and his natural gift as an improviser find their expression in elegantly crafted compositions, a highly personal genre he sometimes calls "world chamber music." Music Journal builds on the fusion of jazz and classical elements Zarvos forged on Dualism (M033A), his 1995 duo release with saxophonist Peter Epstein, and especially the critically acclaimed 1997 quintet album Labyrinths (M040A), with its incorporation of explicitly Brazilian elements. Music Journal features Epstein on soprano saxophone as well as Labyrinths` veterans Dorothy Lawson on cello and Mauro Refosco on percussion, and two newcomers, Chris Dahlgren on bass, and Satoshi Takeishi on drums and percussion. With a greater emphasis on composition, these new entries in Zarvos' repertoire distill his diverse experiences into vibrant, luminous music unlike anything else on the contemporary scene.
