Besonders „Das gute Geschirr“ ist, wie öfters in „Alfred Hitchcock präsentiert“ und in „Alfred Hitchcock zeigt“, eine (schwarzhumorige) Sternstunde für ältere Schauspielerinnen. In dieser Episode spielen Estelle Winwood (geb. 1883), Elizabeth Patterson (geb. 1875), Ellen Corby (geb. 1911, sie war später die Grandma bei den „Waltons“) und Ida Moore (geb. 1882) noch einmal groß auf. Die Damen verlieben sich in den gegenüber eingezogenen, gut aussehenden Inspektor. Da trifft es sich gut, dass gerade eine von ihnen verschieden ist. Kurz darauf stirbt eine weitere von ihnen und der nette Polizist muss wieder zu ihnen kommen.

In my book, it's a delightful entry, with delicious tongue-in-cheek. Catch big-eyed Miss Hildy (Winwood) roll those coquettish orbs as she lets handsome O'Finn (Morgan) in the front door. So, their little ruse has worked, but what about the dead lady all laid out in the parlor in her best finery. The four giggle and carry on like school girls. So what's the gentlemanly O'Finn to do with a dead body and a set of highly unusual suspects. This is the series at its dark humor and offbeat best, with no less than a wild ending.
