Schwarzhumoriges gibt es nicht nur in den Präsentationen von Alfred Hitchcock. Auch einige Episoden sind schwarzhumorige Kabinettstücke. Da wäre der ultrageizige Gatte in „Wer soll das bezahlen?“. Einerseits möchte er seine plötzlich allzu spendable Frau umbringen. Andererseits sollte das möglichst billig vonstatten gehen.

Alexander Gifford is a miser who wants get rid of his wife. He thinks about divorcing her, but realizes that it will be expensive. He then considers hiring a hitman to kill her, but then thinks of the high cost. So Gifford kills her himself. He is shocked, however, by the funeral bill of $150. He decides to sell his wife's body to science and gets $75.
