    This symbolic tale finds a young girl an expectant single parent. She keep the baby but dumps the father, a kindly but immature youth bent on becoming a rock & roll crooner. When she takes up with a more serious boy, he drags her down with his own emotional impairments.
    Following his manifesto for a new Swedish cinema, director Widerburg started his career with this realist tale of young woman, Britt, who has two flings, but finds herself with difficult decisions when she finds herself pregnant.

Les flirts, l'apparition du rock'n'roll, la condition des filles-mères, la vie en usine, les travaux ménagers, l'alcoolisme et la difficulté d'échapper à sa classe : voilà les thèmes de ce premier film fulgurant, se positionnant sur un pessimisme social qui tranche singulièrement avec les autres nouvelles vagues.
