Inside Animal A&E goes behind the scenes into two of the UKs busiest animal A&E departments, following the fortunes of the staff, volunteers and of course patients at the Blue Cross animal hospitals in London Victoria and Grimsby.

    Part 1:
This week, ambulance drivers Sonia and Angela pick up a 50 kilo Dogue De Bordeaux who has a mysterious bedwetting problem, which vet Cristina must get to the bottom of. Vet Lawrence is trying to find out why guinea pig Noel is feeling anxious and upset; while in Grimsby volunteer Helen is giving round the clock care to tiny orphan kitten Oliver.

    Part 2:
The team picks up fat cat Tiger, who has a rather embarrassing problem down below, which means going on a diet. In Grimsby, nine-year-old greyhound Carter could have a serious underlying health problem – so it's straight into surgery for him; and Nurse Charlotte has a particularly unusual patient to treat - as a stray corn snake is brought in. Meanwhile in Islington some cute kittens visit the mobile unit for vaccinations.

    Part 3:
Ambulance driver Lee picks up a senior citizen and regular Blue Cross patient - 17-year-old tabby Twinkle - who has a sore mouth.

    Part 4:
Nine-month-old Bambi comes into A&E after being hit by a car, and vets must quickly investigate any internal injuries and treat the puppy for life threatening injuries. Ambulance driver Lee picks up two cats who need to be taken to hospital for vital health checks – but first he has to catch them. Plus, in Grimsby, six-year-old West Highland Terrier Tinkie is in hospital for a very unusual life changing surgery.

    Part 5:
At the Blue Cross in Grimsby, Labrador Scooby is in to have some lumps removed from around his eye and scaredy cat Wotsit finally makes it in for his jabs. Receptionist Hannah has overcome a major hurdle in starting her Vet Nurse training and today she is helping in the kennels. Vet Alison is in theatre with an unusually tiny patient – Squeaky the rat has a growth in his stomach that needs removing – and the vets reveal some of the more unusual animals they have been called upon to treat.

    Part 6:
Ambulance driver Lee picks up a cat whose excess weight is causing it some serious health problems, while vet Charlotte deals with a husky with a sore paw in the mobile clinic. In Grimsby, Bev operates on a dog that has a worrying lump in its bladder that needs removing as soon as possible
