The beautiful Arab princess Shéhérazade has been promised to Haroun-al-Raschid, a mighty Sultan of Baghdad. There she is to join the harem of the Holy Land's ruler. On her way to him, the caravan is attacked by Bedouin thieves and she kidnapped. The gallant emissary and nephew of Emperor Charlemagne, Renaud de Villecroix, who is on his way to the Sultan to ask for safe passage for Christians to the Holy Land, learns of this and sets out to save her.
