In 1943, Soviet aviation achieved complete air supremacy. Wave after wave of Il-2 aircraft attacked the defenses of the weakening enemy almost without hindrance. These attack aircraft gained such fame and such confidence that they became a symbol of the Great Patriotic War. Rough and powerful - these are two words that fully characterize the IL-2. Soviet soldiers rejoiced when he appeared in the sky and swooped down on the enemy. IL-2 was rightfully recognized as the best attack aircraft of the Second World War.

Самолёты Ил-2 волна за волной практически беспрепятственно наносили удары по обороне слабеющего противника Эти штурмовики получили такую известность, такое доверие, что стали символом Великой Отечественной войны. Ил-2 по праву был признан лучшим штурмовиком Второй Мировой войны.
