Frank (Johnny Depp) is an American tourist on holiday in Italy to try to leave behind a past of emotional disappointment, but never could have imagined that this trip would upset his life. It all starts when he meets Elise (Angelina Jolie), a woman sweeping and mysterious, and was overwhelmed. But the encounter is far from random and, in pursuit of a potential romance, Frank will soon be caught and crushed in a spiral of intrigue and danger, against a backdrop of stunning Venice.
