Un piccolo paese della Bassa emiliana, giugno 1946. Don Camillo, parroco del paese, è un bravo sacerdote che non incarna certo lo stereotipo del mite pretino di provincia: egli è infatti impulsivo ed esuberante, nonché dotato di una grande forza.

Don Camillo rimane molto irritato e deluso, come la signora Cristina, la vecchia maestra del paese, e l'avvocato Stiletti, l'unico consigliere dell'opposizione eletto, per la vittoria alle elezioni amministrative locali di Giuseppe Bottazzi, detto Peppone, capo della sezione locale del PCI, nonché vecchio amico di Don Camillo, sebbene i litigi tra i due siano all'ordine del giorno.
Il nuovo sindaco è infatti un suo rivale politico, perché Don Camillo, convinto della sue buone intenzioni, non rinuncia a immischiarsi in faccende politiche. Don Camillo appoggia i proprietari terrieri del paese per evitare espropri; Peppone invece difende la causa di contadini e operai, anche se, armandosi di buon senso, i due si ritrovano quasi sempre d'accordo.

Mentre Peppone dirige un comizio, accompagnato dai suoi collaboratori, il Brusco e lo Smilzo, per proclamare la sua linea politica, dopo essere stato eletto, Don Camillo suona le campane della chiesa per impedire la manifestazione. I comunisti allora assaltano la chiesa, nello sconcerto della signora Cristina: Don Camillo si arma di fucile per intimidirli, ma essi si fermano per acclamare Peppone che dal balcone della sua casa mostra il suo ultimo figlio appena nato. Ma perfino il neonato è fonte di un ennesimo bisticcio e compromesso tra i due: Peppone lo vuole battezzare Libero Antonio Lenin; Don Camillo non ne vuole sapere; alla fine i due si accordano, sbrigando la faccenda a modo loro, per Libero Antonio Camillo Lenin.

La rivalità tra i due prosegue: Don Camillo incendia una casa di campagna diroccata, dove aveva scoperto che Peppone nascondeva un'ingente quantità di armi da guerra da usare per la rivoluzione, e si impossessa di una mitragliatrice. Peppone proclama nei suoi comizi il progetto della costruzione di una casa del popolo; Don Camillo, non comprendendo dove il sindaco possa trovare i fondi, lo accusa di essersi appropriato di dieci milioni di lire, che egli aveva dichiarato sequestrate dai fascisti durante la guerra. Il sindaco allora presenta al parroco un attestato, in cui dichiara di adoperare il denaro ancora in suo possesso per la costruzione della casa del popolo, ma Don Camillo lo costringe, minacciandolo col mitra, a far costruire anche una città giardino per i bambini del paese e Peppone cede.
Don Camillo è un film italo-francese del 1952, diretto dal regista Julien Duvivier e liberamente ispirato ai personaggi creati da Giovannino Guareschi in una serie di racconti (1946-47), poi riuniti in volume nel marzo 1948 dall'editore Rizzoli.

Recovery Volumes (.rev)
Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.
This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.
Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.
WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.
You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.
Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
