Le Autorità militari della Repubblica Democratica Tedesca, per stornare l'attenzione mondiale dalle esercitazioni navali della NATO nel Mediterraneo (nel corso delle quali esse intendono provare uno strumento bellico ancora segre), promuovono a Berlino-Est un Festival di musica leggera americana. Tocca così a Nick Rivera, un divo della canzone stile Priesley, di trascinare i borghesi e la gioventù tedesco-orientale nei vortici di ritmi tanto scatenati, quanto inconsueti. Nicki incontra Hillary, che è la figlia del prof. Flammond, uno scienziato francese tenuto prigioniero in un castello, alle cui scoperte la R.D.T. attribuisce enorme importanza a fini militari. Sul luogo si trova anche un gruppo della Resistenza francese, capeggiato da Miguel, che deve liberare Flammond. Per aver difeso la ragazza da un poliziotto, Nick viene arrestato e imprigionato. Dalla sua cella, egli riesce a scoprire, in altra contigua, il laboratorio dove il professore lavora. Liberato comunque per tenere il concerto, Nick riesce a fuggire con l'aiuto di Hillary per raggiungere i partigiani, nel cui capo - detto "Lo Scuro" - la ragazza riconosce una sua antica fiamma. I tedeschi però attaccano il rifugio dei partigiani: i superstiti decidono di liberare subito, guidati da Nick, il prof. Flammond e vi riescono con uno stratagemma. Al contempo, però, si scopre che nel gruppo si annida un traditore: è proprio Miguel, che non riesce a neutralizzare in un duello subacqueo. Il professore (che Miguel aveva rapito una seconda volta) viene definitivamente liberato ed i nostri eroi partono tutti su di un aereo in direzione dei mondo libero.

English Synopsis
This time Zucker and Abrams are spoofing, most notably, Elvis films and WWII spy movies. Val Kilmer stars as Nick Rivers, a handsome American 50s-style rock and roll singer. While performing in East Germany, he falls in love with a beautiful heroine and becomes involved with the French Resistance.
The film tells the story of Nick Rivers (Kilmer), an American pop singer (whose songs sound suspiciously like those of Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys and Little Richard), who goes to East Germany to perform at a cultural festival. While there, he becomes involved in the French resistance movement and helps the beautiful Hillary Flammond (Gutteridge) rescue her father (Gough), a brilliant scientist being held by the East Germans and forced to build the deadly Polaris naval mine.
The film also features short performances by Omar Sharif as Agent Cedric, and Peter Cushing as a Swedish bookstore proprietor, in a scene filmed completely in reverse.

Recovery Volumes (.rev)
Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.
This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.
Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.
WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.
You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.
Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
