Calling themselves Josephine and Daphne, they join the band and board a train. Joe and Jerry both become enamored of "Sugar Kane" (Marilyn Monroe), the band's vocalist and ukulele player, and struggle for her affection while maintaining their disguises. In Florida, Joe woos Sugar by assuming a second disguise as a millionaire named "Junior", the heir to Shell Oil, while mimicking Cary Grant's voice. An actual millionaire, Osgood Fielding III (Joe E. Brown), becomes enamored of Jerry in his Daphne guise. One night Osgood asks Daphne out to his yacht. Joe convinces Daphne to keep Osgood ashore while he goes on the yacht with Sugar. That night Osgood proposes to Daphne who, in a state of excitement, accepts, believing he can receive a large settlement from Osgood immediately following their wedding ceremony.

When the mobsters arrive at the same hotel for a conference honoring "Friends of Italian Opera", Spats and his gang see Joe and Jerry. After several humorous chases (and witnessing yet another mob murder, this time of Spats himself and his crew), Jerry, Joe, Sugar, and Osgood escape to the millionaire's yacht. En route, Joe reveals to Sugar his true identity and Sugar tells Joe that she's in love with him regardless. Joe tells her that he is not good enough for her, that she would be getting the "fuzzy end of the lollipop" yet again, but Sugar loves him anyway.

Jerry, for his part, tries to explain to Osgood that he cannot marry him, launching into a range of objections from insisting that he can't get married in his mother's dress ("We are not built the same way") to the tearful confession that he can "never have children." Osgood dismisses them all and remains determined to go through with the marriage. Finally, exasperated, Jerry removes his wig and shouts, "I'm a man!", only for Osgood to override this final revelation by uttering the film's memorable last line: "Well, nobody's perfect."

MGM has subtly and capably expanded the film's mono sound elements into a more immersive DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track. Purists will probably be disappointed that the original track isn't also included—not even in lossy, Dolby Digital form—but rest easy, there's nothing about this multi- channel mix that seems gaudy, gimmicky, or out of place. A few gunshots and car sounds have been panned into the rears, and Adolph Deutsch's score sometimes takes up residence in the space around your head, but that's about it. Most of the action is still up front and center, where it's always been. I have no complaints.

The music sounds wonderful—particularly Marilyn's three featured songs—and the limited effects have about as much punch as you'd expect from a film from the late 1950s. Dialogue throughout is perfectly balanced and easy to understand—once you set your initial volume, you'll have no reason to touch your remote for the rest of the film. The disc also includes a number of dubs and subtitle options, including a subtitle track for the audio commentary.

Audio Commentary: This is a patchwork track comprised of commentary by I.A.L. Diamond's son, Paul Diamond, along with screenwriting duo Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel—who are here simply because they were greatly inspired by the film—and occasional spliced interjections from archival interviews with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. It's worth listening to, but I would've loved it if Billy Wilder could've recorded a commentary track before he passed away.
The Making of Some Like It Hot (SD, 25:45): A decent retrospective documentary that features interviews with Billy Wilder, I.A.L. Diamond, Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and others.
The Legacy of Some Like It Hot (SD, 20:22): Similarly, this feature examines the lasting impact of the film, and includes interview footage shot at a 1984 screening in San Diego.
"Nostalgic Look Back" Documentary (SD, 31:13): Leonard Maltin sits down with Tony Curtis to discuss the making of the film.
Memories from the Sweet Sues Featurette (SD, 12:03): Several of the "Society Syncopaters" get together to reminisce.
Virtual Hall of Memories (SD, 21:04): Essentially, a lengthy stills and clips gallery, organized as "paintings" hanging on the walls of a terribly outdated-looking CGI hallway.

Some Like It Hot Blu-ray, Overall Score and Recommendation
Comedically, Some Like It Hot is about as good as it gets, and you don't have to take my word for it—in 2000, the American Film Institute named it the greatest American comedy of all time. The film looks and sounds fantastic on Blu-ray, but in terms of supplements, this re-release is pretty much a straight port of the 2-disc Collector's Edition DVD from 2006. Still, for fans, an upgrade is definitely in order, and for those that don't yet own the film, this is the version to get. Highly recommended!

Recovery Volumes (.rev)
Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.
This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.
Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.
WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.
You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.
Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
