Assunta, costretta a difendere l'onore di persona perché senza padre né fratelli, parte per l'Oltremanica armata di pistola, decisa ad uccidere il seduttore. Giunta in Scozia trova il ristorante italiano dove egli lavora ma questi riesce a fuggire. Lavorando e un po' aiutata da amicizie occasionali, Assunta segue i movimenti di Vincenzo il quale riesce puntualmente a dileguarsi. Un giorno Assunta lo riconosce nelle vesti di un portantino di un ospedale di Bath e lo segue fino al nosocomio ma lei sviene alla vista di una operazione. Soccorsa da un primario nasce tra i due un'amicizia.

Questi prende a cuore il suo caso e poco a poco, riesce a mutarne la mentalità, a farla desistere dall'assassinare Vincenzo, il quale è addirittura riuscito a spacciarsi per morto, con tanto di finta tomba. Assunta comincia a studiare e a lavorare assumendo così quasi le vesti di una vera inglese. Colpito da questo cambiamento, Vincenzo vuole sposarla. Assunta finge di accettare e dopo una notte insieme lo abbandona a Brighton per raggiungere il primario nell'isola di Jersey.

La ragazza con la pistola è un film del 1968, diretto da Mario Monicelli. Fra gli interpreti figurano Monica Vitti, Carlo Giuffrè e Stefano Satta Flores.
Fu questo il film che segnò una svolta nella carriera di Monica Vitti: fino ad allora infatti era stata impegnata solo in ruoli drammatici, ma Monicelli, che ne aveva intuito le capacità comiche (come aveva già fatto 10 anni prima con Vittorio Gassman), la lanciò come attrice brillante e ironica, tanto da farla diventare in seguito una delle colonne della commedia all'italiana.

Questa interpretazione consentì alla Vitti di aggiudicarsi il Premio David di Donatello per il 1969, il Nastro d'Argento ed un premio come migliore attrice al Festival di San Sebastián; il film fu candidato al Premio Oscar come miglior film straniero del 1968 e, ancora nel 1969, vinse il Premio David di Donatello per la migliore produzione, accreditata a Gianni Hecht Lucari.

The Girl with the Pistol (Italian: La ragazza con la pistola) is a 1968 Italian comedy film directed by Mario Monicelli. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Monica Vitti won the David di Donatello as Best Actress.
Comedy-drama about a Sicilian woman (Vitti), "dishonored" by her lover, goes to England with a pistol intending to murder him.

Recovery Volumes (.rev)
Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.
This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.
Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.
WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.
You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.
Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
