    Polonia, 1962. Anna scopre infatti di essere ebrea: il suo vero nome è Ida, e la rivelazione sulle sue origini la spinge a cercare le proprie radici e ad affrontare la verità sulla sua famiglia, insieme alla zia. All’apparenza diversissime, Ida e Wanda impareranno a conoscersi e forse a comprendersi: alla fine del viaggio, Ida si troverà a scegliere tra la religione che l’ha salvata durante l'occupazione nazista e la sua ritrovata identità nel mondo al di fuori del convento.

Both women start a journey not only to find their family's tragic story, but to see who they really are and where they belong. They question what they used to believe in. Both of them are trying to go on living but only one eventually can.
