When Martin leaves prison he forms a swing band on the advice of a cellmate. After recruiting playing members the one person to transform the band is the beautiful singer, Joan, the love of Martin's life but now the wife of his arresting officer…
Martin est un petit escroc sympathique, d'un naturel optimiste et jamais à cours d'idées, parfois bonnes, souvent mauvaises. La bonne idée : ayant appris le saxophone au cours d'un séjour en prison, Martin décide, dès sa libération, de monter un groupe de jazz avec quelques copains. La (très) mauvaise idée : engager comme chanteuse son ex-petite amie, désormais mariée au policier qui a arrêté Martin. Pire encore : Martin s'est mis en tête de la reconquérir…
