Catherine (Charlotte Gainsbourg) is a beautiful young woman who is excited to start a new life with her new husband Nick. Upon moving into his house, however, strange accidents begin to occur that have something to do with Nick's mysterious first wife. When she realizes that several of her new neighbors have a connection to this enigmatic woman, Catherine must find out the truth before it's too late.
Les policiers écoutent, perplexes, les aveux de Catherine Girard. Elle leur annonce qu'elle vient de tuer l'ex femme de son époux, or cette dernière est décédée deux ans auparavant et l'affaire classée depuis longtemps. Devant le scepticisme des agents, elle revient sur l'origine des faits qui coïncide avec son arrivée dans l'appartement de son mari, peu de temps après leur mariage.
