The first part of this series on the appreciation of the Chinese classical music includes the recordings compiled according to the general coures of the Chinese muisic history.Having covered the musical works from different dynasties of ancient China,this part can be regarded as a "Historical part" of the series on the appreciation of the Chinese classical music.It consists of six albums arranged in the order of Pre-Qin, Han, Wei and the Six Dynasties, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing. The editing arrangment of the series not only meets the demands of broad music lovers but also is suitable to the basic requirements in the instruction fo the Chinese music history.

This double cd is recorded live in Karuizawa, Japan in 1986, and released by Phonocomp in Italy in 1992. It contains songs of the Santana Band, the Jeff Beck Band and Steve Lukather as a guest guitarist. Jeff Beck is assisted by Jan Hammer, Doug Wimbish, Jimmy Hall and Simon Phillips. The quality of the soundboard recording is not too bad. Luke is realy whipped up by Santana and Jeff Beck. The album is also known as Rock in Karuizawa. The Layla Sessions: 20th Anniversary Edition (or The Layla Sessions) is an anniversary edition reissue of the Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs album by Derek and the Dominos, who disbanded in 1971. The album contains remixed material from its original album, unused alternate/incomplete masters of the original songs and studio jamming, all divided on three disks. Unlike the original album, this album has received fairly low review scores from critics.

Laura Fygi's Bewitched is a straight-ahead jazz date in which the attractive singer is joined by a rhythm section, a string section, and some guests. She performs fresh and warm versions of a dozen songs, the majority of which are ballads. The performances are concise (only one tune exceeds four and a half minutes) and lightly swinging, although the string section sometimes seems unnecessary. Toots Thielemans' harmonica helps out on "Good Morning Heartache" and "Girl Talk," Clark Terry uplifts "It's Crazy" and "The End of a Love Affair" with his flugelhorn, and tenor great Johnny Griffin is featured on "I Only Have Eyes for You," "I Love You for Sentimental Reasons," and "I Wish You Love." Throughout, Fygi holds her own and sounds quite relaxed and musical, making these standards her own. Recommended.
