People who have been training aimlessly up until now will be surprised at how much their efficiency and results change when they learn to train logically. It's the kind of dramatic change that enables a mediocre hitter who before could only hit weak grounders to start hitting home runs.
And it's not just efficiency and results that change. People who train logically on a regular basis regain mobility—it's almost as if they were born again! They have more energy, aches and pains disappear, and they can spend their days more comfortably.
Having a full range of mobility also has a positive effect on your mind, making you more motivated to work, more focused, and more willing to try new things. Simply put, training provides a variety of physical and mental benefits.
You, too, can experience numerous benefits and make big changes if you start training logically.

Words of recommendation by Yusei Kikuchi (excerpt from the book)

"Strength training isn't going to make you any better at baseball."
This is what Coach Shimizu said to me when I first met him. For someone like me, who was devoted to training with the sole objective of improving my baseball skills, it was difficult to understand the meaning of his words.
My goal was to throw a faster pitch. To achieve this, I had been working hard on my strength training, but Coach Shimizu seemed doubtful.
"Why are you doing squats? What does that have to do with increasing your ball speed? Can you explain it to me?"
I believed that strengthening the lower half of my body would lead to a faster pitch, but when I was asked to explain why this would be the case, surprisingly I could not. Perhaps sensing my confusion, Coach Shimizu went on.
"If you want to strengthen your legs, why not just do leg presses or leg extensions instead of squats? Why are you doing squats in particular? What's the difference? Can you explain it to me?"
I was stumped, I couldn't answer. But more than that, I wondered why I had been training blindly without even considering these questions before.
The answers to these questions are detailed in this book, so I'll skip them for now, but I do remember that back when I first discovered those answers, I got a better sense of how everything was connected. I came to understand how to move my body during my wind-up and pitching motion, and how to transmit power in an extremely logical way. That's when I got it. It's not that training would improve my baseball skills, but rather it would improve my physical ability, which then would allow me to do the technical exercises I wanted to concentrate on in a more rational way. The entire process would eventually improve my baseball skills. It's not enough to just do training. You need to have a foundation for your training.
Training is logical. There is always a Why and you have to be able to explain it.
