444 Days highlights the story of the Iran hostage crisis, when Iranian university students took over the US embassy in Tehran back in 1979.
Both the hostages and the former students talk about what happened from their points of view and reflect upon their personal experiences during the 444-day ordeal.
John Limbert, fluent in Farsi because of his long stay in Iran and marriage to an Iranian woman, is one of the former US diplomats to discuss the hostage-taking.
444 Days is in fact the history of Iran's Islamic Revolution up until the time of the crisis. Drawing on their experiences, these people also talk about present Tehran-Washington relations and the prospects of improvements in future ties between the two countries.
