Barking is a community east of London, England that was once an industrial center and a hub for shipbuilding, but in recent years the town has fallen upon economic hard times. As many people have moved away from Barking, a number of immigrants have arrived in town to take their place, but a number of right-wing hate groups have sprung up to protest the influx of new arrivals from Nigeria, Pakistan and the West Indies. Filmmaker Mark Isaacs brought a small camera crew to Barking to examine the troubled racial situation, and the documentary All White In Barking finds both troubling and encouraging stories in the changing face of the community. While a number of openly racist citizens of Barking are featured, Isaacs also finds a number of people who have come to accept their new neighbors, as Jeff and Susan strike up a friendship with the Nigerian family that's moved in next door and holocaust survivor Monty develops a warm relationship with another Nigerian expatriate, Betty. All White In Barking was screened in competition at the 2007 Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival.
