City of Ember is a 2008 American science fiction film directed by Gil Kenan. The movie takes place in the underground city of Ember, where the last remaining humans live in a perpetual twilight, relying on a giant generator to power the city. The story follows two teenagers, Lina and Doon, who are on a quest to uncover the secrets of their city and find a way to escape before it collapses. As they dig deeper, they discover that the city's creators had planned for a limited lifespan, and that the only way to save their home is to find a way to escape before it's too late.
