Derek has an unusually close relationship with his only daughter, Georgia. Since Georgia's parents are separated, life isn't perfect, but Derek and Georgia manage to make the most of it by surrounding themselves with family and friends. For now, at least, life is good. Everything changes when Georgia is kidnapped while staying with her mother. The authorities help Georgia's family search for the missing girl, but when she's found that night on the beach she's already dead. Distraught, Georgia's family tries to get on with their lives while Detective Harris runs the investigation to find the murderer. While Derek's friends and family do their best to help him through the tragedy, Derek uncovers evidence revealing his daughter's killer, and he is tempted to seek revenge.
