Discovery Channel: Man vs. Wild [Season 6] (2009)

Man vs. Wild, also called Born Survivor: Bear Grylls or Ultimate Survival, is a survival television series hosted by Bear Grylls, on the Discovery Channel. In the United Kingdom, the series is shown on both the Discovery Channel and on Channel 4. The general format of each episode is the premise that Grylls is left stranded in a region. The episode documents his efforts to survive and find a way back to civilization, usually requiring an overnight shelter of some kind. Bear also tells about successful and failed survivals in the particular area which he is in.

Bear Grylls has served with the British Special Forces, climbed Everest and explored the Arctic. In this exciting series he shows us how to survive the toughest and most remote environments on the planet by putting himself in the position of a stranded tourist. He parachutes into rainforests and abseils into deserts, lakes and the highest, most inhospitable peaks in America. Using his specialist survival techniques to find his way out of these wildernesses, he climbs sheer cliffs, navigates white water and icy crevasses, encounters predators and forages for maggots, raw fish, alligator meat and live snakes as food.

* Episode 01: Arctic Circle
Bear heads to the Arctic Circle as he challenges an icy waterfall, hunts for wild reindeer and contends with some of the coldest conditions on earth

* Episode 02: Alabama
Bear heads to Alabama where he meets up with a wild boar, contends with a forest fire, fends off the freezing white water rapids and take a dark journey through a limestone cave.

* Episode 03: Vietnam
Bear heads to Vietnam where he confronts a spitting cobra, blood-sucking leeches, endures a flood and eats a forest scorpion.

* Episode 04: Texas
Bear heads to Texas where he takes on the Chihuahuan Desert, does battle with a snake, and jumps from an old plane.

* Episode 05: Alaska
Bear heads back to a Alaska to challenge a glacier, hangs by his fingertips from a forest waterfall and is nearly crushed between an iceberg and his rescue craft.
