    Masayuki Asao's "Flower and Snake - Rope Magic" is a delicious poem to all things sleazy. The shifty boyfriend of a cute rich girl manipulates her into helping him repay his massive debts to a nasty, S & M-loving gangster (played by the tampon-eating deviant from Ohara's "White Rose Campus"). When the deal goes wrong, the girl and her hot stepmother are kidnapped and captured for all kinds of sex. The carnal menu includes urination, whipping, wax torture, rape and forced lesbianism. Not only is this a Nikkatsu shocker that would make any production company proud, it is also a beautifully shot and choreographed pink flick. One of many stand-out sequences involves the camera dollying past a man being beaten as two women are tortured in the background. A scene involving a see-saw, opium, and two semi-naked women, is also well worth the admission price. If Japanese pink flicks that walk a nastier edge than most are not your style, stay away from these parts. If, on the other hand, you're a convert to this special brand (excuse the pun) of cinematic pleasure, shed your inhibitions (if you have any left) and indulge. You won't be sorry.
