Lavatory Lovestory focuses on a lonely, middle-aged woman who is in charge of a public lavatory. Day by day she sits in her little booth, collecting coins from the lavatory users whilst reading her newspaper. She yearns for another man in her life, someone to love and hold her. But one day, when flowers mysteriously keep appearing in her money-jar, she suspects that this dream may come true after all.
Lavatory Lovestory is a delightful short film courtesy of the film-makers in Russia. It's a very touching story that follows the angst and sadness of a lonely woman, and her transformation into a happy and joyful human being. The unusual setting of a public toilet turns out to be surprisingly fitting; this and other aspects unique to the movie help make Lavatory Lovestory a very memorable short film.
Coming in at 10 minutes, it's slightly longer than conventional short films; but time flies when you're watching Lavatory Lovestory, as it's a beautiful black-and-white film that will no doubt surprise and entertain those who watch it.
