Little Manhattan (2005)

: Mark Levin : Josh Hutcherson (Gabe), Charlie Ray (Rosemary), Bradley Whitford (Adam), Cynthia Nixon (Leslie), Willie Garson (Ralph), Tonye Patano (Birdie)... depicts the story of eleven-year-old Gabe's realization that girls can be pretty and pretty nice to be with. The story takes place, and was filmed on location, in Manhattan, mostly in the Upper West Side. Ten-year-old Gabe was just a normal kid growing up in Manhattan, until Rosemary Telesco walked into his life actually into his karate class. But, before Gabe can tell Rosemary how he feels, she tells him she will not being going to public school any more. Gabe has a lot more to learn about life, love and girls. received mostly positive reviews from film critics. BBC's Stella Papamichael wrote that the film was "sweet but not syrupy and heart-warming without being manipulative, this kid flick stands tall among recent Hollywood love stories". Kevin Thomas, writing for the Los Angeles Times, called the film "a handsome charmer about the avalanche of first love...an endearing, affectionately humorous and even lyrical depiction of the dawning of adolescence amid the privileged".
