Late nights in clubs and too much booze make talented, headstrong jazz trumpeter Adam Johnson impatient with fans who want him to play more popular tunes. In spite of his self-destructive mood swings, Adam agrees to calm down in order to gain the love of the serene Claudia. However Adam’s respite from rage doesn’t last long, and threatening his agent with a broken bottle gets him kicked off the club circuit. This little-known film was directed by Leo Penn, who spent most of his career directing enduring television series such as Dr. Kildare, Bonanza, Marcus Welby, M.D., and Columbo.
