For over a hundred years, San Francisco's run-down Tenderloin district has endured as a place to go when there's nowhere else to go. Here, a block from shoppers browsing Gucci and Prada, are the lowest rents in town—and the loosest rules. Immigrants, recovering addicts, non-recovering addicts, artists, students, retirees–and those who prey on them–all call this place home.

"Tenderloin" tells the story of a physically and psychically wounded Iraq War vet who moves into the neighborhood to lose himself in drink, but finds, instead, his son, a girl, and some very colorful friends: Felicia, an over-the-top drag queen, turning tricks until she can turn into a woman; Cassandra, who has already made the change with stunning success; Duke and Johnny, vets from two other wars, who once had dreams and hopes; Owen, the squatter with hard memories; Myrna, a mother figure to them all; and the red hot Skyler, who could change his life. It's a fast ride, with hard lessons and tough choices. It's the Tenderloin.
