È in questa circostanza che conosce Giovanni (Carlo Ninchi), maturo floricoltore. I due si innamorano e in Paola nasce il desiderio di cambiare vita ma non ha il coraggio di raccontare la verità a Giovanni. Così, alcuni giorni dal matrimonio della sorella Anna (Roswita Schmidt), decide, dopo anni di assenza, di ritornare al paese natio e di rimanervi per un qualche tempo. Giovanni l’avrebbe poi raggiunta per chiedere la sua mano ai suoi genitori.

Il suo ritorno nel piccolo paese di campagna porta però scompiglio: il padre non le rivolge la parola perché a conoscenza del mestiere della figlia, il neo-cognato Nando (Massimo Girotti), non sa nulla di queste voci e pensa che Paola lavori ancora come sarta. Rimasto stupito dall'avvenenza della ragazza Nando prova per lei un forte desiderio. Allo stesso tempo Riccardo (Francesco Grandjacquet), compaesano da cui Paola era stata sedotta anni prima e che conosce il suo recente passato, la ricatta, minacciandola di raccontare la verità a Giovanni.

A Paola non rimane che cedere al ricatto ma Nando interviene in tempo. Paola ora è ancora più sola: la sorella tanto amata la detesta, il cognato la disprezza e Riccardo probabilmente cercherà di creare problemi con Giovanni. Non le rimane che buttarsi giù da un ponte, ripetendo così il gesto che aveva aperto il film e che l'aveva turbata profondamente.

Desiderio è un film del 1946, diretto dai registi Marcello Pagliero e Roberto Rossellini. Le riprese del film cominciarono nell'estate del '43 col titolo di "Scalo merci", con la regia di Roberto Rossellini. Il film fu interrotto e ripreso a guerra finita con la regia di Pagliero che ne modificò la sceneggiatura. Distribuito nel luglio 1946, fu ritirato dalla circolazione e drasticamente ridotto dalla censura a 73 minuti. Il film fu girato negli stabilimenti ACI della Farnesina a Roma.

Desiderio depicts Paola Previtali (Elli Parvo), a young call girl, who sickens of her life in Milan after a friend of hers commits suicide. Feeling unworthy of her boyfriend Giovanni (Carlo Ninchi), she returns to her native village in the Abruzzi mountains…

Recovery Volumes (.rev)
Recovery volumes or .rev files are special files which can be created by WinRAR/RAR and allow you to reconstruct missing and damaged files in a volume set. They can
only be used with multi-volume archives.
This feature may be useful for backups or, for example, when you post a multivolume archive to a newsgroup and some of the subscribers did not receive some files. Reposting recovery volumes instead of usual volumes may reduce the total number of files to repost.
Each recovery volume is able to reconstruct one missing RAR volume. For example, if you have 30 volumes and 3 recovery volumes, you are able to reconstruct any 3 missing volumes. If the number of .rev files is less than a number of missing volumes, reconstructing is impossible. The total number of usual and recovery volumes must not exceed 255 and the number of recovery volumes must be less than the number of RAR volumes.
WinRAR reconstructs missing and damaged volumes either when clicking on .rev file, or when using rc command or automatically, if it cannot locate the next volume and finds the required number of .rev files when unpacking.
You may use the "Recovery volumes" option in the Archive name and parameters dialog or a similar option also appears in the Protect archive command to create recovery volumes. In the command line mode you may do it with -rv switch or rv command.
Original copies of damaged volumes are renamed to *.bad before reconstruction. For example, volname.part03.rar will be renamed to volname.part03.rar.bad.
