La consueta estate nella grande casa sul mare, per un gruppo di amici parigini, ciascuno con il proprio stress, ciascuno con le proprie piccole bugie. E per tutti il dolore di una mancanza, l'amico rimasto solo a Parigi in ospedale dopo un gravissimo incidente. Ci pensano e non ci pensano, la vita (e le vacanze) vanno avanti. Ma stavolta l'estate è per tutti un grande freddo: Vincent (Benoit Magimel) non ama più sua moglie e prova qualcosa per l'amico Max (François Cluzet), che la rivelazione rende ancor più nervoso e insopportabile, Eric (Gilles Lellouch) non smette di provarci con tutte, mentre l'abbandonata Marie (Marion Cotillard) consuma storie di sesso senza gusto e futuro. Fra tutti questi disperati della vita branché, s'aggira un solo idealista, il tenero Antoine (Laurent Laffite) che vive appeso agli sms della ex di cui è ancora innamorato (Anne Marivin).

Every year, Max, a successful restaurant owner, and Véro, his eco-friendly wife invite a merry group of friends to their beautiful beach house to celebrate Antoine's birthday and kick-start the vacation. But, this year, before they all leave Paris, their buddy Ludo is hurt in a serious accident, which sets off a dramatic chain of reactions and emotional responses. The eagerly anticipated vacation leads each of the protagonists to raise the little veils that for years they have draped over what bothers and upsets them.
